I dare ya to do better than this Mem

The Website

Updated 3-26-99  Whipee A few more themes for the oil vat that is #RSPW.  If I'm not mistaken, I've put up new themes for Hulka-Maniac, TheSax, John Murren (does he even hang anymore), Tehawk, Glyptic, Wu9tang, and Demchuk.

Updated 1-9-99 .  Updated with my new theme...  as well as Vinny and D_Windley's new theme. Also updated a theme for El Samurai. Get them now!  (Well my new one at least).  I'm gonna stick in a checklist to trouble shoot problems with the auto theme play instructions... as there's been a few people having problems with them.  [Second] Updated with a higher quality version of Dave_Z's theme, linked to his own webspace. [Third] Had a faulty link to my theme... it's better now.  <=>-)

I hope everyone is having a good start to their Warriorman's Year.  If you want... send your profiles to [email protected].   If there's any links to anyones page missing...  give me an email at my 330 address.

Welcome to #RSPW's official website.   There's no bells or whistles here... this page is mostly for utilitarian and archival purposes.  I don't plan on doing anything grand w/ it...  but if any of the reggs do...  I'll pass you the ball and let you run with it <=>-).

First order on hand... and the main purpose for this site's creation:  Theme music.  Many of the regs in #RSPW have theme music to help us make believe that someone cares when we make our entrance.  It gets rather tedious DCCing these back and forth... so you'll find an archive down there.  You know where. Click here if you want to submit a theme for the site and channel.

In order to play #RSPW theme songs... Make sure that in the Tools > Options > Sounds menu you have the box labeled "Accept Sound Requests" checked.  You should then download each of these songs to the \sounds\ directory in you're mIRC folder.

If you need to change your theme, or submit a new one... send it to [email protected],or DCC it to Warriorman in #RSPW.  #RSPW themes are usually recorded in 8-bit, 22khz, and should be under a meg in size.

How to make your theme play 'automatically' when you enter the room.

I've received a few questions on this... and this seems like the appropriate place for a tutorial.  The following instructions are for the mIRC Internet Relay Chat client.  I'll try to keep the insturctions within layman's terms.

Go to the Tools > Remote menu.  Click on the tab that says Users.  Then pick a number, 2 and up, a number that isn't in that window (it's probably blank).  Type into the Users window <yournumber>:<yournick>.   For example, in mine it says:

    2:Warriorman

Now, click back on the Remote tab.  On a new line, type in on

on <yournumber>:join:#RSPW:/sound #RSPW <yourtheme>.wav

So in mine it says:

on 2:join:#RSPW:/sound #RSPW warr.wav

Auxillary Sounds:

These are a few sounds that come into use on the channel, but don't qualify as anyone's theme.  You can play them by typing /sound #RSPW <filename>.wav.  Or if you want to make that simpler, go to the Tools > Aliases menu, and on a new line type in:

/s /sound $Chan $$1.wav

Now, in order to play a sound, just type /s <filename>

Cricket Chirping cricket.wav 20k
The Warrior saying "Talk to me Warriors!" speaktome.wav 32k

That concludes the #RSPW homepage.  If you've got any suggestions email [email protected]
